6days to go
This Eid al-Adha, with your help we aim to put a smile on the face of our poor and needy Muslims brothers and sisters in Yemen. Yemen is going through one of the worst humanitarian crisis in recent history.
The city of distribution is Hudaydah, which continues to be one of the war-ravaged country’s most dangerous place. Up until 2019, a staggering 390,000 Yemenis continue to flee from their homes across the country. Many other organisations are carrying out qurban in the big cities like Sana’a and Aden. We will be focusing on a very neglected area that is not easily accessible to all. Our aim is to provide meat to 500 families whom might not have tasted meat in years.
2 out of every 3 people can’t afford food and over 50% of the population is on the brink of starvation. Just let those numbers sink in for a minute. There has been over 1 million cholera cases, 25% of those are children. To make matters worse, COVID-19 is resulting in a crisis that continues to devastate the country.
There are many ways to help our brothers and sisters in Yemen. We make dua for them and try to help them as and when possible. But we need to come forward and make sure that they never have to go hungry. They should also get the chance to forget their sorrows and make the most out of Eid. Our charity partners, Charity Right will be arranging Udhiya or Qurbani of sheep this Eid ul Adha.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The best of deeds is making the believer happy, such as covering his ‘awrah, satisfying his hunger or meeting his need.” [Tabarani]
