Each share has the power to bring in RM 200 in donations
Described by UN Secretary-General as “one of, if not the, most discriminated people in the world“, the Rohingya are one of Myanmar’s many ethnic minorities. A report published by UN investigators in August 2018 accused Myanmar’s military of carrying out mass killings and rapes with “genocidal intent”.
Around 700,000 Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar and today, many of them jostle between refugee camps in Indonesia, searching for a glimmer of opportunity while having to live in extremely tough conditions. Add to that hunger, and a shortage of food supplies and it makes life even more tough for our brothers and sisters who were already surviving on the bare minimum in the first place.
Our charity partners, Rumah Zakat will be arranging special food packages for Rohingya refugees, most of whom are young children and women.
Our donors have the unique opportunity to directly help their persecuted brothers and sisters on the ground by providing food packs.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The best of deeds is making the believer happy, such as covering his ‘awrah, satisfying his hunger or meeting his need.” [Tabarani]
The Campaign Goal has been increased by RM 10,000 as the previous goal was met Alhamdulilah.
This campaign aims to help and support as many refugees as possible, so we will gradually increase the campaign goal to meet the final amount.
