Rokiah is  a 46 year old single mother of 6 children from Cenderong Balai, Perak.

–  Four of her children are still in school and the other two are working here and there.
– Her husband passed away in a road accident in 2015.
– Rokiah manages to earn only RM 800 – RM 1000 per month depending on the customers visiting her store.
– Rokiah runs a small grocery store business in Chenderong Balai. She wishes to supplement her income by adding 2 washing machines in the store as well.

Story

The Solution

Through your donations and help, Rokiah can buy better retail products and equipment to increase the number of customers coming to her grocery store

The donations will help Rokiah by giving her the opportunity to expand her grocery store and add a laundry section to supplement her income.

The expansion will include:
a. Buying 2 units of Washing Machine: This includes the feature to wash and dry clothes.
b. Expand her retail business capital and stocks

To make sure that your donations reach their maximum potential, Rokiah will undergo a special training course that will help teach and enhance his skills in running a business.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It is better for one among you to bring a load of firewood on his back and give charity out of it (and satisfy his own need) and be independent of people, than that he should beg from people, whether they give him anything or refuse him. Verily the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin (charity) with your dependents. [Muslim]

Rokiah is a living example of the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ regarding those who try to work to earn a Halal and respectable income instead of begging others. At GlobalSadaqah our mission is to empower such people so that they go from becoming beneficiaries to benefactors themselves. This is the core of our mission to Circulate Good.

Even the smallest of donations count. Allah loves all those who give and help remove a difficulty of a fellow Muslim. The donations from this campaign not only help Rokiah set up a decent business but will also help stabilize a family without a father to guide and support them.
