Islam is an Arabic word that denotes submission, surrender, and obedience. As a religion, Islam stands for complete submission and obedience to Allah – that is why it is called Islam. The other literal meaning of the word ‘Islam’ is ‘peace.’ This signifies that one can achieve real peace of body and of mind only through submission and obedience to Allah. Such a life of obedience brings peace of the heart and establishes real peace in society at large. This message was preached by all the Prophets of Allah, who guided man to the right path. 

Today, we see Islamophobia and many misconceptions about Islam being propagated in the media. This gives a very negative lens for the world to perceive the religion of Islam and Muslims in general. Yayasan Khadija based in Indonesia has launched a social media initiative that aims to tackle this phenomenon. They will create easy to consume content that clarifies many of the misconceptions about Islam and presents its true message for the world to see. 

Yayasan Khadija also aims to conduct free webinars focusing on mental health and wellbeing for the youth and young adults. They invite reputed psychologists and other professionals to share their experience with the public. Donations to this campaign will help facilitate informational webinars and produce engaging content.
