Emergency Aid: Solidarity with Our Community
Despite the many challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought, it has truly been heart- warming to see Malaysians come together to help those in need. Ordinary Malaysians have become the unsung heroes of our nation, galvanising into quick action and providing assistance to vulnerable neighbours, families and communities.
To continue helping impacted communities weather the pandemic’s challenges, Alliance Bank and Alliance Islamic Bank are collaborating with Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) on the Solidarity With Our Community campaign to raise funds to purchase and distribute food boxes to affected individuals and families.
During this campaign, funds raised via the Alliance Islamic Bank’s social crowdfunding platform, SocioBiz, will be channelled to Yayasan Kebajikan Negara, its charity partner that will help to identify beneficiaries and distribute the food boxes. These beneficiaries will come from the Program Perumahan Rakyat or B40 groups who have lost their income during the pandemic.
You too can be part of the Solidarity With Our Community campaign! Consider making a donation today to help feed those in need right now. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of fellow Malaysians today.
In addition, for every RM10 you donate via SocioBiz, the Bank will match it 2:1 and donate RM20, to make it a total donation of RM30! We aim to raise RM150,000 to provide at least 1,300 food boxes. The crowdfunding cost for this campaign will be subsidised by our platform partner, Global Sadaqah. All remaining costs involved in this crowdfunding initiative will be covered by Alliance Islamic Bank’s SocioBiz platform. This means, 100% of your donation goes to the community!
The food boxes will vary according to the beneficiary’s needs. Below are the packages for illustration:
Set A: A basic food box for a family of four will cost RM100, excluding logistics.. It consists of dry food items such as rice, flour, biscuits, bee hoon, canned sardine, condensed milk, soy sauce, and oil, etc. This is expected to last the beneficiaries 3-4 weeks.
Set B: A food box catered for the elderly or special needs recipient will cost RM50, excluding logistics.. It comprises ready-to-eat food items like pre packed instant chicken, sambal, and cooked glutinous rice, etc.
The food boxes can be customised to fit recipients’ needs, such as inclusion of formula milk for families with young children. Furthermore, all food boxes will include information on mental health assistance to spread awareness among the recipients that mental health support is available whenever they need it.
Let’s help to support our community by making sure everyone gets a meal.
