Campaign Story

At Food Aid Foundation (FAF), we are not just fighting hunger – we are creating a lasting change. By sourcing and recovering surplus food produce, we prepare, pack, and distribute cooked food for the underprivileged. We believe in sustainable solutions that help individuals build better future through entrepreneurship.

F&B Entrepreneur Development Programme: A Path to Financial Freedom

Building upon our success in supporting the underprivileged community, we launched the F&B Entrepreneur Development Programme which was designed to help individuals from B40 communities in Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan who dream of starting their own food businesses amidst financial and social challenges.

Today, many of our participants are single mothers, unemployed youth, and individuals struggling with low-wage jobs. Despite their challenges, they share one common trait – a strong determination to build a better future.

Why This Programme Matters

  • Many talented individuals have the passion and skills for cooking but lack the capital, equipment, and business knowledge to turn it into a source of income.
  • Sole breadwinners, striving to provide for their families despite unstable or low-paying jobs.
  • Job seekers and retrenched workers looking for a way to regain financial independence through food entrepreneurship.

How We Make a Difference

Through this programme, participants receive hands-on training in:

  • Food preparation & safety guideline – Learning essential skills to run a successful food business,
  • Business management – Understanding pricing, budgeting, and customer engagement.
  • Financial literacy – Equipping them with money management skills to sustain their businesses.

Our Goal: Empowering 40 Entrepreneurs with Start-Up Grants

We are partnering with Alliance Islamic Bank to provide startup grants of up to RM4,000 per participant, giving aspiring food entrepreneurs the opportunity to launch their businesses. This funding will help cover:

  • Essential cooking equipment & tools – Equipping them with what they need to create quality products
  • Raw ingredients & packaging – Ensuring they have the materials to start production immediately
  • Business licenses & food safety certification – Giving them the credibility and legal approvals needed to operate successfully

With this support, 40 determined individuals from B40 communities can turn their passion for food into a sustainable source of income. Together we can break financial barriers and create lasting change.
