Campaign Story

For over three decades, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Kelantan (PEKA YATIM) has been more than just a shelter — it’s been a family, a school, and a second home for children who’ve lost theirs.

But time has worn down the walls, the toilets are leaking, dorms are overcrowded, and the library is no longer fit for learning. These children deserve better. They deserve a place to belong — a place that reflects their dignity, nurtures their dreams, and restores their hope.

This campaign seeks to rebuild that space, one phase at a time. Together, we can restore the dignity every orphaned child deserves.

Who Are the Beneficiaries?

78 orphaned children residing full-time at PEKA YATIM, aged 7–18
Local underprivileged families (asnaf) involved in community support programmes
under PEKA YATIM

PHASE 1: Safe Foundations

Target: RM50,000
Focus Areas:

Refurbishment of the Main Hall (used for daily prayers, group learning, and meals)
Full upgrade of Toilet & Sanitary Facilities
Resurfacing and construction of Covered Walkways to ensure safe, flood-free access
across the orphanage

Renovation Nears Completion, Let’s Finish What We Started!

Assalamualaikum,

We are humbled to share a heartfelt update on Project: A Place To Belong, taking place in Malaysia at PEKAYATIM, Desa Rahmat, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

The renovation works have now reached a meaningful milestone. The hall, restroom, and walkway roof are fully usable — transforming what was once a worn and tired space into a clean, bright and welcoming place for children who deserve to feel safe and cared for. Only a few final touch-ups and cleaning remain before this space becomes their new home.

This progress represents more than just completed construction. It’s a step closer to giving orphaned children a sense of dignity, belonging, and hope for their future.

Here’s what has been completed so far:

Exterior painting finished, giving the building a fresh new look
Interior hall renovated and spacious, ready for activities and learning
Ceiling structure installed and secure
Covered walkway completed to provide safe passage
New toilet unit fully functioning

Next steps:

Final cleaning and polishing
Electrical safety checks
Installation of curtains, partitions, and furnishings
Preparation for handover or opening ceremony
