Campaign Story
Aqeeqah is a significant act of worship and a continuation of the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim. It involves slaughtering a sheep on the seventh day after birth and sharing its meat with friends, family, and the poor on the occasion of welcoming a newborn child. Aqeeqah is a means of expressing gratitude and thanks to Allah for the blessing of having a child.
This act is an established Sunnah that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his Companions performed.
It was narrated from Aisha that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded them to sacrifice two similar sheep for a boy and one for a girl. [Tirmidhi]
Ali bin Abi Talib said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had the Aqeeqah for Al-Hasan with one sheep, and said: 'O Fatimah! Shave his head and give the weight of his hair in silver as charity.'' He said: 'So I weighed it, and it was the weight of a Dirham or a bit of a Dirham.' [Tirmidhi]
Cost of 1 Sheep = RM 460 (US $110)
This campaign give our donors the unique opportunity to do their Aqeeqah in Makkah. Those wishing to just feed the poor in Makkah and distribute meat to them can also support this campaign. Our partners source the sheep from local farms to help support small businesses as well. After careful research and proper verification a list is formed of those who are the most needy families. The preparation of this list is done with a lot of care so that meat reaches those who are really deserving. To ensure the best performance, our on ground partner distributes the meat to the poor of Makkah physically by visiting them in their respective neighbourhoods. The meat is packaged and stored before distributing to ensure that optimum quality is maintained at all times. The team on the ground will be fulfilling all Islamic principles and requirements as per proper Islamic teachings.
The surplus meat (if any) is handed to Adahi organisation, the official Government body of Saudi Arabia that handles the distribution externally. The meat will be packed and frozen and then shipped to 27 needy Islamic countries such as Bangladesh- Pakistan- Azerbaijan- Iraq- SyriaLebanon- Palestine- Jordan- Djibouti- Sudan- ChadNiger- Mali- Burkina Faso- Mauritania- Ghana- LiberiaSierra Leone- Guinea- Conakry- Guinea BissauComoros- Mozambique.
Donations to this campaign will be used to distribute meat to the poor families in the blessed city of Makkah.
Let's start with just MYR 10 and help feed our brothers and sisters and spread smiles in the holiest city on the globe.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter. And whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover (his faults) for him in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah is engaged in helping the worshipper as long as the worshipper is engaged in helping his brother.” [Tirmidhi]
