Campaign Story

There is currently only 1 mosque in Bacolod City, Philippines, a city of about 600,000 people. It can fit 90 at a time for iftar activities. Outside the city in Mansalingan, there is 1 small masjid, which can fit about 30 people for iftar. Islam is the 2nd largest religion in the Philippines, with about 10.7 Muslims or 11% of the total population.

This new mosque is being built behind the existing mosque, and it is close to completion, due in September 2024 insha Allah. The project began in 2020 but unfortunately got delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. To make matters worse, the cost of materials also rose.

The mosque will consist of 3 storeys: 1st level for the men, 2nd for the ladies and the 3rd being an office space, classrooms, a library and a kitchen.

Estimated cost:

Materials: Peso 9m (MYR 746, 183)

Balance to be raised: Peso 5m (MYR 414, 546)

Workers' wages: Peso 25000/week (MYR 2,073)

Let's help them to complete this noble mission and a great service to the Muslim community there.

The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow's nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."
