Campaign Story

Pak Apri is a 31 year-old shoreline fisherman and also the sole breadwinner of his family. He’s from the island of Buyu, 120km away from the nearest coast of Tanjung Pinang, of the Riau Islands.

After complaining about severe pain in his abdomen, he was sent to a polyclinic in Tajur Biru which is 50km away via Sea Ambulance. Upon examination he was diagnosed with appendicitis and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Tanjung Pinang.

Surgery was performed to remove the appendicitis and he is now recovering. However, he couldn’t afford the medical fees and related expenses with his RM500/month earnings. He also has a wife and two young children under his care.

GoodDeeds International Berhad (GDIB) are arranging for an immediate campaign to support his cause. Contributions will cover hospitalization and surgery, inter island and local transport, ambulance service at Tanjung Pinang, accommodation for an accompanying adult and other expenses.

To be living in dire conditions, away from the ease of access to basic amenities, especially healthcare, must be very challenging. Let's come together and ease the burden of Pak Apri and his family. A starting donation of RM10 (2 USD) will go a long way.
