Campaign Story

Susilawati is an 18-year-old Indonesian citizen from Mabong Island. She is the oldest child of Pak Zakaria, who being a fisherman is able to make only RM 500 each month. Even though they had financial difficulties, Susilawati's family always managed to get by.

But Susilawati's family's financial difficulties became even more evident when she felt severe abdominal pain on April 4. She had no choice but to rely on the Sea Ambulance service to get her to the closest physician, which is 50 kilometres away. The doctor diagnosed her with Appendicitis. She was immediately sent to a hospital at Tanjung Pinang for surgery . The surgery was performed on 5 April.

The total expenses are about RM 3000, with the low income her father could not afford the cost of transportation, accommodation and surgery for the daughter.
