Key Points:
- In 2006, they procured an old factory in Hayes and turned it into Quba Masjid. It was rebuilt in 2017
- However, since then the community has outgrown the masjid size and people have to pray outside on the concrete due to limited space
- On 4th August 2023, we secured the building for extension. 2nd phase includes repaying £275,000 (MYR 1,460,000) of Qardul Hassan, submitting planning permission and designing, demolishing and rebuilding
UPDATE:
On 4th August 2023, we secured the building for extension. 2nd phase includes repaying £275,000 (MYR 1,460,000) of Qardul Hassan, submitting planning permission and designing, demolishing and rebuilding.
Campaign Story
The name Quba Masjid is a significant one, given the special status that the Quba Masjid has - the first ever masjid built in Islam by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself. For the Muslims of the town of Hayes, in west London, it has certainly served the community well.
Originally opened in 2006, when they took over an old factory building and has gone through renovations and rebuilding over the years, notably in 2017.
Since then, the community has grown rapidly, and the masjid grounds can no longer fit the needs of the community. People are praying on the streets as the community keeps growing. Quba Masjid is also a centre of learning where Qur'an classes, Islamic education and other social activities are regularly held.
To ensure the needs of the local Muslim community are met, Quba Masjid wants to procure the adjacent building to further improve the services and facilities they can offer to the public.

For this, they urgently need to raise the GBP 800,000 (MYR 4,700,000)/USD 1,030,353) required to purchase the building outright. Let's all come together to make this a reality for them! Imagine the massive benefit it will provide to the Muslims and the local community there and to forget, for you as well.
Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” [Bukhari, Muslim]
