Campaign Story

This is the second Masjid under our umbrella project of empowering green and sustainable masajid across Malaysia. We successfully installed solar panels through our first campaign for Masjid Al Quddus in Kelantan. For this latest campaign, the beneficiary is Masjid Jamek Al Wahdatul Islamiah in Kedah that can hold 800-1000 congregants.

The installation of solar panels directly benefits the masjid as it generates financial resources for the use of masjid activities as well as cover management costs and monthly electricity bill payment. Furthermore, in line with making the masjid sustainable, the electricity generated through the PV solar panels will be sold to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) under the Renewable Energy Power Purchasing Agreement.

The Managing Director of Green Energy Generation Sdn Bhd, Ku Sairy Ku Din as the party responsible for installing and supplying PV solar panels for this campaign said, the efforts made by the masjid committee should be used as an example. He said it helped in easing the financial burden borne by the masjid management and directly supported the government's aspirations in the development and use of green technology. This campaign also directly helps reduce the release of Carbon dioxide into the air.

Majis Jamek is also involved in having a food bank and many other community building activities at its premises.

Donations to this campaign will be used to install solar pv system for a masjid in Kedah which will facilitate future electricity saving and make the masjid highly sustainable. The electricity bill can easily be reduced by RM700.   Let's start with just MYR 10 and make the most of this unique opportunity of making our masajid go green and become highly sustainable.

The building of masjid facilities is a way for a person to continue to earn a multitude of blessings even after death. How? Abu Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).” [Muslim].
