The Campaign Story

For a baby, food insecurity is not simply hunger. It can mean a weakened body, slower development and a far greater vulnerability to illness. And for a mother already struggling to feed herself, care for her children and survive displacement, providing adequate nutrition for a baby can become an impossible burden. In Gaza, that burden remains painfully real.

The latest UN-backed nutrition assessment found that 12.2% of children under five are suffering from stunting, while only 22.4% of children aged 6–23 months are receiving a minimum acceptable diet. More than one-third of children surveyed had experienced diarrhoea in the previous two weeks. Maternal malnutrition also remains a concern.

Across Gaza, families continue to struggle with severe food insecurity. The latest IPC assessment projects 1.4 million people, around 67% of Gaza's population, to face Crisis-level food insecurity or worse, while an estimated 74,200 children under five will require treatment for acute malnutrition through April 2027.

For mothers already struggling with malnutrition, displacement and limited access to nutritious food, keeping a baby adequately fed can become an overwhelming challenge. Humanitarian teams continue to identify infants requiring specialized nutritional support, including ready-to-use infant formula, alongside treatment for malnourished mothers.

RM 50 / $12 provides one can of infant formula.

RM 100 / $24 provides two.

RM 500 / $120 provides ten.

Together, we can provide 1,200 cans for 50 babies over three months.

This campaign will provide babies in northern Gaza with infant formula for three months, while supporting their mothers with essential vitamins and nutritional assistance. You may never meet these children. You may never know their names. But your Ṣadaqah can become part of the reason they were given the chance to grow.

🍼 40 Babies in Gaza Receive Lifesaving Formula Milk

Alhamdulillah, through Project Ummi, essential baby formula has been provided to 40 malnourished infants in the Gaza Strip in our latest round of distribution.

Each infant received 400g cans of formula milk, helping provide critical nutrition to babies aged 1–24 months who are staying in pediatric hospitals, particularly Al-Nasr and Al-Rantisi Hospitals. These are babies already facing the effects of severe food insecurity and illness. For infants who cannot receive adequate nutrition through breastfeeding or other available sources, formula milk can be an essential part of their nutritional support.

UNICEF continues to report serious concerns over child nutrition in Gaza. Its latest nutrition survey found that dietary quality remains extremely poor, with only 22.4% of children aged 6–23 months receiving a minimum acceptable diet, while thousands of children continue to require treatment for acute malnutrition.

The original Urgent Initiative for Milk and Mothers campaign was created to provide infant formula and nutritional support to babies and mothers in Gaza. This latest distribution is another step in ensuring that vulnerable infants receive the nutrition they desperately need.
