Campaign Story
The city of Al-Quds is suffering from a very bad economic and social situation. In addition to the economic turmoil caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the occupying forces have been working relentlessly to extend control and seize control of the Holy City.
From the beginning of 2017 until June 2020 , 333 housing units were demolished inside the city of Al-Quds, which was inhabited by more than
800 people, leaving most of them without a place to live. If this wasn't enough, the occupation forced the residents of more than 97 housing units to
demolish their own homes, leaving these families and children severely traumatized. In the first week of August 2020, four families in Al-Quds were forced to demolish their own homes that left
24 individuals including 14 children homeless. This campaign aims to help 20 families whose homes were demolished in the city of Al-Quds and from it's surrounding areas, through the implementation of the following projects:
- Removing the rubble from the demolishment.- Pay rent for the affected families.- Furniture and urgent expenditure.- Urgent aid. The campaign aims to provide the necessary and urgent support to families who lost their homes in the demolition carried out by occupation forces. The overall project budget value is $680,000.
Donations to this campaign will help in removing the rubble, renting a house, buying furniture for the family, and added financial support. This is a unique opportunity for our donors to directly reach out and help Masjid al-Aqsa and our brothers and sisters in Palestine. In 2020, Ummet Vakfi the team also helped support 1,331 indebted families and 1,264 workers in need.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter. And whoever covers (the faults of) a Muslim, Allah will cover (his faults) for him in the world and the Hereafter. And Allah is engaged in helping the worshipper as long as the worshipper is engaged in helping his brother.” [Tirmidhi]
