  • 33.4 million Indonesians lack clean water and access to proper sanitary facilities in the countryside.

Campaign Story

World Wild Life claims that 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water. Among many factors, the increasing number of expenses and the lack of financial power to build clean water facilities & infrastructure is a huge contributor to this number.

In our Islamic history, the issue with water also happened to the residents of Madinah during Prophet Muhammad's (ﷺ)  era. Finally, Uthman bin Affan used it as an opportunity to benefit the Ummah by helping to buy and donate the Raumah well.

Access to clean water is crucial as it affects all aspects of life, from health to people's welfare. Sadly, even after 1400 years since the issue with water access in Madinah, access to clean water is still an issue in Indonesia.

At the moment, there are 33.4 million Indonesians lacking clean water.

Not only access to clean water, but proper sanitary facilities are also quite rare in the Indonesian countryside. Given the distance from the city, the transporting cost becomes a burden on top of the high price of the materials.

With that, we are encouraging all to follow suit of what Uthman bin Affan did and provide easier access to clean water and proper sanitary facilities for the people in Indonesia.

Your contribution will surely change the life of the people.

Who are the beneficiaries of this campaign?

People who lack access to clean water in West Java, Indonesia. We have identified 1,881 people in the countryside of West Java in several villages.

The clean water infrastructure built from this fund will help the community improve their health and well-being. Water is a basic human need.

Funds will be distributed in 3 water programs for all. Wells, shared toilets, and pipelines, adapted to the needs of each village.

This construction infrastructure will involve local communities (beneficiaries). So that people have a sense of ownership of the facilities provided.

Beneficiaries will also be educated on how to manage the facility. Beneficiaries will also be motivated to build the same infrastructure in other villages.
