The Year of Starvation: Qurban 2021 in Sudan (Cow)
Sudan is one of the poorest developing countries in the world with over 40% of its citizens living below the poverty line. Poverty in Sudan results from a combination of factors ranging from the country’s location in the Sahara desert to rampant government corruption. Sudan has many outstanding challenges, including one of the highest rates of stunting in the region with around one million children affected by global acute malnutrition. The low growth of employment, increasing unemployment and low levels of productivity remain at the core of high and persistent levels of poverty in Sudan.
More than 2.7 million children are acutely malnourished. Further, estimates determine that 5.8 million people in Sudan are food insecure. In Khartoum state 26 & of the people live in poverty.
For these people finding sustenance is a challenge in itself and with their non-existent to meager earnings a good meal (like meat) is a luxury most have rarely experienced.
Your sacrifice done for these people will bring them huge relief and great joy on this auspicious occasion of Eid. Donations to this campaign will help provide meat packages to these poor and needy Muslims so that they also get the chance to forget their sorrows and make the most out of Eid.
Alhamdulilah all the animals were slaughtered and the qurban was carried out successfully in the village of Wad Al Aqli in Khartoum.
Thank you for feeding some of the poorest villages in Sudan.
1 cow (270 kg) helped feed meat to approximately 100 households that included asnaf beneficiaries like pre-prosperous people, widows and orphans.
