About Rahdeyah Binti Mohd

Mrs. Rahdeyah Binti Mohd is an Asnaf from Melaka in Malaysia. She earnsĀ RM600 approximately a month working as an assistant chef in a hotel. Even this RM600 is inconsistent because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic that has shut down and severely impacted the food and beverage industry. Ā Ā

Mrs. Rahdeyah is a single mother who has to support 5 children who are completely dependent on her. Her late husband who worked as a fish seller died of a heart disease in 2014. Since her husband’s death, all responsibilities fell upon Mrs. Rahdeyah who has been trying to find a job as a cook to raise her children, most of whom are still young and in school. Add to this, she is also tasked to look after her ailing brother in law.Ā

One of her sons tried to continue the business of his late father but was only able to get old fish to be used as salted fish for sale in the markets due toĀ lack of capital. Another son helps Mrs.Rahdeyah take care of the medical needs of his uncle during the day and then helps dry the salted fish later in the night.Ā

Mrs.Rahdeyah has received monthly zakat aid since 2014, and lives on the land and ancestral house of her late husband’s family in Kg. Bukit Cina which is in really poor condition as assessed when visited by the Melaka Zakat Distribution Squad (SAZ).
“Even the house we live in has started to rot and eaten by termites, including the wooden walls, roof and walls of the house, many of which have
cracked”, said Mrs. Rahdeyah.
On visiting the family, MAIM Secretary, Hj. Muhammad Ikram Ibrahim, said; “Rahdeyah is a single mother who is persistent and has the potential to be helped not only in the form of monthly aid but business support aid to provide space and opportunities for herself and family members to
venture into business.”Ā She needs more help and guidance to make a change for the better.Ā

To make a change for the better and enhance his business, Mrs. Rahdeyah:

– New Processing Workshop = RM24,000
– Freezer (750 liters) x 2 = RM2,758
– Tiled Table Top = RM1,600
– Industrial Sink = RM400
– 20″ Industrial Exhaust Fan = RM170
– Heavy-duty Polybox Cooler = RM600
– Place to Dry Fish = RM800
– Electrical Supply = RM900
– 2 Months Rolling Capital = RM9,000
– Plastic Containers and Stickers = RM300
– Contingency Costs = RM2,011

Such dedication from Mrs. Rahdeyah is highly commendable and should be supported by us. Mrs. Rahdeyah is a living example of the hadith of the Prophet ļ·ŗ regarding those who try to work to earn a Halal and respectable income instead of begging others. At GlobalSadaqah our mission is to empower such people so that they go from becoming beneficiaries to benefactorsĀ themselves. This is the core of our mission to Circulate Good.

Even the smallest of donations count. The donations from this campaign not only help a single mother set up a decent business but will also help bring smiles and mental peaceĀ to a needy family.Ā

The Messenger of Allah ļ·ŗ said: “It is better for one among you to bring a load of firewood on his back and give charity out of it (and satisfy his own need) and be independent of people, than that he should beg from people, whether they give him anything or refuse him. Verily the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin (charity) with your dependents. [Muslim]
